Trust & Safety

Last updated: April 30, 2026

VowNow is a discovery marketplace, which means we connect you with vendors but every booking and payment happens directly between you and them. That gives you flexibility — and it puts the responsibility for verifying the vendor on you. Here’s how to stay safe.

Before you commit

  • Verify the venue or vendor in person. If you’re booking a venue, visit it. If that’s not possible, ask for a live video tour.
  • Check independent reviews. Search Google, The Knot, WeddingWire, and Instagram. A vendor with no online presence is a red flag.
  • Ask for references from couples who have actually held weddings with that vendor in the last 12 months.
  • Always sign a contract that specifies the date, deliverables, total cost, deposit, refund policy, and cancellation terms. Never wire money without a contract.

When you pay

  • Use a credit card when possible — credit cards give you chargeback rights if the vendor fails to deliver.
  • Avoid wire transfers and Zelle for deposits; they’re effectively unrecoverable.
  • Be skeptical of unusually low prices or pressure to pay quickly. Real vendors don’t need you to wire by end-of-day.
  • Don’t pay 100% upfront. Standard practice is a deposit (often 25–50%) with the balance due closer to the date.

What VowNow does

  • We review every vendor listing before it goes live. We don’t publish without an admin approval.
  • We collect contact information for every listing so couples can reach the actual vendor.
  • We remove listings reported as fraudulent or unsafe.

What VowNow can’t do

We can’t guarantee that every vendor will deliver as promised, and we can’t recover money sent directly to a vendor. If you suspect fraud, contact your bank or credit card company first, then email hello@vownow.co so we can investigate the listing.

For vendors

Be honest. If your venue is double-booked or your photos are stock, say so. Couples will find out, and the marketplace only works if listings are real.

Report a problem

See a listing that looks off, or had a bad experience with a vendor? Email hello@vownow.co with the listing URL and as much detail as you can. We read every report.
